#ACC405 Large Early 19th Century Copper Hanging Lantern

This lantern would be used outside and be suspended by a chain.It is hexagonal in form, each face is different with alternating designs of deer and maple trees with double hinged doors.

The lantern stands on six legs, each engraved with ‘aoi’ (hollyhock) leaf motifs. The eaves of the roof are divided into twelve sectionseach in the form of a Buddhist treasure.

Measuring approximately 68cm wide by 62cm high. With period iron hook and chain included.
