#ACC343 Late 18th Century Hanging Scroll Of Umajirushi And Hatasahimono Of The Tokugawa Clan

This interesting hanging scroll depicts 'umajirushi', 'sashimono' and 'jinbaori' (battle standards, flags, and surcoat) designs of the ruling Tokugawa clan.

Starting at the top with 'jinmaku' (campaign blanket) and battle standards where headquarters on a battle field would be set up.

Descending through to regimental flags, then 'horo' (wind catching flags used by cavalry) all the way down to surcoat and individual flags worn by infantry.
